Copper

From the Book: Preventing and Reversing Arthritis Naturally - The Untold Story, p. 21. 2000 by Raquel Martin; Karen J. Romano

The Physicians’ Desk Reference informs us that copper can be found in oysters, nuts, whole grains, and organ meats.” In her book, What Your Doctor Won’t Tell You, Jane Heimlich tells of Australian chemist Dr. W. Ray Walker, who found copper chelates to have an anti-inflammatory effect, and that back in the 1940s and 1950s patients used this remedy to relieve their arthritic problems. “Dr. Walker also knew that the old-est medical text, the Egyptian Ebers papyrus recommends pulverized copper to treat various types of inflammation.” In some instances, “copper complexes are more effective and less toxic than drugs being used to treat arthritis, ” says John Sorenson. Some consider copper bracelets to be “a time-release source of copper that desensitizes the individual to irritants associated with chronic inflammation.” Dr. Whitaker reports that “copper salicylate is more effective at pain relief than aspirin alone or copper alone.” One study involving 1,140 patients given this type of copper showed “increased joint mobility, decreased swelling, ” and a list of other benefits as well.

Wearing a copper bracelet can significantly help with arthritis, back pain, aches and joint pains. My parents swear by it. In fact my dad makes jewelry and after he discovered that copper helped him with his bad back pain he started making copper bracelets for sale. He has been selling them for over 15 years and the personal testimonials he's heard are remarkable. The amount that it helps is individual of course and varies but most people feel at least SOME improvement while others say they experience DRAMATIC improvement. In any case it's cheap to try and can't do any harm. I'm surprised copper wasn't posted before and curious to read other people's experiences with this.
