GARLIC FOR ARTHRITIS—One wheelchair patient consumed 5 to 6 cloves of garlic daily along with a raw vegetable salad. Within 2 weeks the inflammation “just went away.” In 4 weeks the joints healed and she had a remarkable restoration of flexibility. During the 5th week she left her wheelchair, needing neither cane nor walker. At the end of the 6th week she joined a jogging club and started jogging. She said that it was GARLIC that saved her from ARTHRITIS.

Rheumatism and osteoarthritis can be caused by a hidden virus. The best-known natural antiviral and antibiotic agents are contained in garlic and vitamin C. Garlic contains a biologically active compound called allicin. This sulfur alloy is activated when whole fresh garlic is cut, crushed, or chewed. Clinical studies of garlic’s antibacterial properties have found it to be “effective against a variety of bacteria, including Streptococcus, Salmonella enteritidis, and Staphylococcus aureus, and even some known to be resistant to antibiotics.” A crude extract of garlic can be more effective that most antibiotics. Stephen T’ Sinatra, M.D., in his book Optimum Health speaks about garlic’s ability to reduce swelling through its anti-inflammatory effects.
Garlic has also been proven to be beneficial for osteoarthritis and gout. Onion, a cousin to garlic, has similar effects, although to a lesser extent.’ A combination of herbs and plants such as yellow dock, yucca, black walnut leaves, wormwood, and fenugreek seed are also effective in clearing out the damage done by certain viruses.
